About the Classes
DANCE with Janora Blackman
During this online class, students begin with a 5 minute warm-up which will lead into a 20 minute choreography session. Students will learn fresh hip hop routines each session from JCAL's own Janora Blackman and will have the opportunity to showcase some of their favorite moves at the end of each class. Not only will students learn different routines, they will get an exhilarating workout at the same time.
ART with Anthony Carter
Learn to create art at home using everyday materials. We will explore the possibilities of painting and sculpture using clean, safe recycled materials along with art-specific materials like paint. We will learn to paint the face, figure and animals. We will develop paintings from our imagination and from our inspiration.
Anthony Carter is an art teacher, muralist, painter, ceramicist and sculptor.
STEM with special guests from The Mentor Project
An exciting array of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs are in store, courtesy of our partners at the Mentor Project. Astronauts, physicists, security coders, microbiologists, and more will be presenting. Stay tuned to see who is scheduled each day.

YOGA with Kecia Chin
Aiming for wellness, one step at a time... join us. Ease into your yoga journey by learning sequences of beginner-level postures, asana-proper alignment, breathing, and modification for varying abilities. Each class will include gentle hip openers, forward bends, twists, and standing, seated, and balance postures. Students will develop strength, flexibility, steadiness and confidence through the study of energizing vinyasa and safe alignment. Kecia Chin specializes in teaching people the efficient and effective use of the body to prevent and reverse degenerative posture and movement habits that cause chronic, painful conditions. Her formula for success is Movement + Strength + Optimal Balance + Endurance + Fun = Peak Performance!
MUSIC with Karina Parker
This music series will incorporate all aspects of general music learning from note reading and rhythmic studies, to music history and music appreciation. Each lesson incorporates the fundamentals of the most recognized pedagogical methods such as Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Kodaly Method, Suzuki Method, and Orff Method. While no instrument is required, these classes will offer a foundation of music which develop knowledge and understanding that can be transferred to any instrument.
