The print is based on an oil painting on canvas, which is among a series of work in a large scaled project Sunken Garden. Through a smartphone, audience can find an animation attached to the painting through a free Augmented Reality app "Artivive."


Portraying extinct and endangered species in New York state and beyond, the Sunken Garden is an interdisciplinary art project integrating painting with emerging technology to reflect upon our relationship with nature. More info about the projectcan be found here


Lily Honglei is an artist collaborative based in Queens, NY. Their artworks received numerous awards and grants including Creative Capital Awards for Visual Arts, People's Choice Awardat Museum of Art and Design New York, New York Foundation of Arts (NYFA) Fellowship, New York State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Grant, Queens Art Council New Work grant, among others. Their work has been presented at ICA Boston,Whitney Museum, Queens Art Museum, The Painting Center, Eyebean Art and Technology Center New York, name a few.
