As Covid-19 has swept across the city and the world, it has directly impacted the livelihood of artists everywhere. In an effort to continue to be a resource for creatives during this time, we have compiled a list of grants, resource lists and programs to look into. We encourage you to share this list with peers and those who'd find it relevant. Together, we will get through this tough time.
Grants and Programs
This fund is available for performing arts and entertainment professionals. Eligibility for financial assistance requires an application and documentation of your professional earnings. Please note that in order to qualify you'd need:
A minimum of five years of industry paid employment with earnings of at least $6,500 for three out of the last five years, or
Twenty years of industry paid employment with a minimum of ten years of earnings of at least $5,000 for each of those years, and
While this grant does not focus on replacing lost income during this time, it can be a great help to painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. This is a one-time assistance for a specific emergency, such as a fire, flood, or emergency medical need.
Playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists are eligible to enter the lottery for a grant of $2500. In order to be eligible, you must have had a full professional production (defined for these purposes as a LORT, Off-Broadway, or Broadway full production, not a reading or workshop) of which you are a writer that was cancelled, closed, or indefinitely postponed due to the COVID-19 closures.
If you are a writer, these grants can help. With grants ranging from $500-$3,000, Dramatist Guild Foundation supports costs associated with healthcare, childcare, housing, disability, natural disaster relief, and other unforeseen circumstances.
In light of the impact of COVID-19, FCA has created an emergency grant for artists who have had performances or exhibitions canceled or postponed because of the pandemic.
The site provides a number of opportunities for non profits, including 4 separate grants to aid costs that will not be reimbursed by the government. They also offer loans for nonprofits that have revenue delays due to COVID-19
