I wanted to do an allegory using the famous fairy tale, "Beauty and the Beast" while incorporating zentangle inspired art. The idea is that she overcame adversity and evil with good. She had a lot stacked against her and she triumphed and brought out the Prince from the Beast. She was different from the other villagers and her vain, shallow sisters, but she wasn't afraid to be herself and let her little light shine. She was rewarded with love and honor. It is a story about positivity in adverse circumstances, and has a universal message of hope and joy, even when life is as ugly as the terrifying beast.
