This is me with first time getting out and living in the city and experiencing independence during the summer of 2020. I painted this entire picture with black eyeliner and rose colored lipstick because all the art stores were closed due to Covid19 quarantine. The theme is a mix of inter-connectedness and alienation, a combined intersection of thought. It was a unique challenge to create art with things found around the house. Like other women in other times, such as Anne Frank, I bloom where I'm planted, as the saying goes. Limited supplies and closed stores doesn't mean limited expression of oneself, and art still happens!
