Artist Career Development
JCAL Visual Arts Department often organizes workshops and panels to help emerging artists advance their careers. Typical workshops include “How to Apply for a Grant” and “How to Price Your Work.”

Curatorial Submissions
One of JCAL’s four major exhibitions is devoted to emerging curators. Guest curatorial proposals are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Artist Submission and Slide Registry
The Visual Arts Department maintains a slide registry of artists that serves as a resource for our staff as well as for outside curators. Professional artists can make a proposal to JCAL for an exhibition opportunity on an ongoing basis.

Workspace Program
Each year, JCAL selects one artist from New York City area and provides a studio, a stipend and a single-person exhibition opportunity.
