Valentine’s Family Fun Day – February 9, 2013 12:30-2pm
Families will have the opportunity to attend a workshop during which parents and children can create Valentine’s Day arts & crafts projects.
Earth Day Family Fun Day – April 20, 2013
Families will attend arts workshops celebrating Earth Day. JCAL’s artists will lead a song writing workshop that empowers parents and children to create songs themed on Earth Day and an art workshop that challenges families to create art projects using recycled materials.
JPAC Family Fun Day – May 11, 2013
The Jamaica Performing Arts Center will welcome Shine & the Moonbeams to the stage for an interactive concert that is designed for children and families. Family music’s first soul band Shine and the Moonbeams captures the fun, sweetness, and simplicity of youth in a groovy R&B package. With compassionate verses on important subject matter such as standing up to bullies and celebrating individuality, kids and adults will identify with Shine’s insightful lyrics and soulful melodies.
Jamaica Soul Family Fun Day – May 18, 2013
Families will be treated to a performance by Soul Steps, a step dance group that draws on the African roots of this genre. Families will create arts & crafts projects that draw on the culture and history of Jamaica, Queens.
