Policies

General Policies

  • Full Refund

    Students must officially withdraw from workshops in person or in writing. A non-refundable registration fee of $10 will be applied to all refunds; additional fees may apply. Full refunds (less a $10 registration fee) are available to students who withdraw before classes begin. Refunds are issued within 15 business days via JCAL check or credited to a credit card, if that was the initial form of payment. Cash refunds will NOT be issued. Partial refunds are available to students who withdraw on the first day of classes. Students will receive 95% of the total workshop fee(s) less the $10 registration fee. Refunds will not be given after the first day of classes. Students who register after the first class are not eligible for full or partial refunds.

    All workshops are subject to change, cancellation, or alteration without prior notice.

  • Late Registration

    Students who register after the first class are not eligible for full or partial refunds. Students are responsible for the total cost of the workshops if they do not withdraw within the periods stated above.

  • Workshop Credit

    Workshop credit is available until the third class only in cases of medical or extenuating circumstances. Class credit is valid for one full year. Requests for credit must be submitted in writing and are based upon approval. Supporting documentation may be required.

  • Transfers

    A transfer into another workshop is available until the second class. Certain workshops may require prior consent of the instructor. Students are limited to one transfer per session, based on availability and space. A transfer must be completed by the second class of the session. There will be no transfers after the second class.

  • JCAL will award 10 scholarships for the spring semester. Applications must be submitted by March 2, 2013. Applications are available here and at the Visitor Service Desk.

  • Cancellations

    JCAL reserves the right to cancel workshops that do not meet their minimum enrollment requirements or other extenuating factors. Full refunds will be issued for workshops canceled before or by the first session. Refunds for classes canceled after the first session will be prorated based on the sessions offered not the students attendance. Registration fees are non-refundable.

  • House Rules

    JCAL Staff and Faculty provide supervision only during the program period. Children under the age of 12 must be picked up at the end of each class by a parent or guardian. Children under the age of 12 must be escorted to and from classes by a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 12 during breaks between classes.JCAL does not assume responsibility for the supervision of children before, between and after classes. Incidents of misbehavior such as, but not limited to, physical or verbal abuse, theft and defacement of property, are grounds for suspension or ejection from workshops. In such cases, a refund will NOT be granted. Visitors and unregistered students are not permitted in classes.

  • Lost and Found

    JCAL is not responsible for personal property. Any unclaimed items which have been returned to JCAL will be available at the Front Desk for a period of 30 days.

  • Picking Up Artwork

    JCAL is not responsible for artwork beyond 30 days after workshops end. Students must take artwork home or it will be discarded.
